My practice

In 2005 I was taking care of my Dad and wondering how to also take care of me. My Dad had Alzheimer’s and Parkinson's; I felt good taking care of him, but immensely sad at seeing a part of him disappear.

I thought yoga might help me handle sadness while lifting my spirits for both me and my Dad, and it turns out, that's exactly what happened. And so began my ongoing home and studio practice.

Ever since, I've wanted to share the possibilities of yoga with others. For three years, beginning in 2012, I guided seated yoga songfest for people living in skilled nursing, and chair-based yoga for people in assisted living, all at The Osborn, a local retirement community.

My Dad loved dancing and recognized music to the end of his life. This, along with my experience at The Osborn, led me to trainings in Dance for Parkinson’s, Chair Yoga, and Yoga for Seniors.

In 2016 I earned my 200 hour certification and started guiding restorative and flow practices at a local community center.

I continue to take yoga workshops and trainings to evolve both my teaching and personal practice.

Teaching has been a part of my life from 1982 through June 2020, having taught elementary thru high school students, as well as many of my colleagues, to create and code using digital technology.

I take what I do seriously, but try not to take myself too seriously. My yoga can pop up anywhere, no special clothing or props needed!
