I currently guide Gentle Flow and Restorative, and have guided Chair Yoga and Yoga Songfest in the past.

  • Gentle Flow consists of poses, also called asanas, coupled with warmups and stretches. The practice is designed to nourish the body and mind through guided breath, joint movement, focused balance, and bone strengthening.

  • Restorative Yoga is a highly supportive, barely active practice that utilizes props (such as blankets, pillows, foam blocks and bolsters) to cushion and cradle the body. The props encourage the body to relinquish physical effort, and set the stage for the body and mind to welcome the relaxation response.

  • A nice practice for anyone preferring to not have to get up and down from a mat, Chair Yoga consists of a yoga flow using a chair as accompaniment to seated or standing poses.

  • Yoga Songfest for Adults, also using a chair as accompaniment, incorporates popular music that resonates with participants, the familiar melodies paving the path for more fluid movement, sing-alongs, and smiles.

What began in June 2016 as an in-person local practice expanded in March 2020 when our Community moved online and welcomed friends and relatives from multiple states and countries.

The relaxation response is a physical state of deep rest that changes the physical and emotional responses to stress…and the opposite of the fight or flight response.
